Richard Gray, Jr. is Co-Director of the Community Involvement Program (CIP) at Brown University's Annenberg Institute for School Reform. CIP has helped build community-based collaboratives to improve the student outcomes and push for more equitable educational resource allocations.
Before joining the Institute, Richard was an Annie E. Casey Visiting Fellow with Citizens Housing and Planning Association, a non-profit organization committed to citizen action to achieve decent housing, accountable schools, and participatory community planning in the City of Baltimore, MD.
Richard was also Co-Director of the National Coalition of Advocates for Students (NCAS), a nationwide network of child advocacy organizations that work to improve access to quality public education for student populations who have traditionally been underserved by public schools.
Role as President:
i. Must be a member of IPC, believe in the philosophy of IPC and be dedicated to those whom IPC has set forth in its mission to serve. ii. Must demonstrate a leadership commitment to the mission and goals of IPC and facilitate the goal-setting process at all levels. iii. Must be able to chair all mandatory meetings of the Board of Governors. (In case of an emergency, the President-Elect may serve as chair.) Will serve as liaison to the Corporation Committee on Minority Affairs (COMA), as an ex-officio member.
